3D Printing for Fashion in Tanzania

This past week we worked with a local designer, Anoek de Smet of CanWear, to 3D print chain mail for her to incorporate into her latest collection, “Wachesaji / Dancers“. The pieces took over 10 hours to print, and we had several late nights setting up the printer to run overnight in order to finish on time.

Anoek sewed the 3D printed chain mail onto one of her pieces, and showcased it in the Love Local Fashion Show on May 21st in Dar es Salaam. This is the first time 3D printing has been used in fashion in Tanzania and we are thrilled to be helping this innovative designer to push boundaries in local fashion. We look forward to working with Anoek more! Keep your eyes open for new pieces in future collections πŸ™‚
